Bout of Books Read-a-thon Mini Challenge 5

Bout of Books Read-a-Thon

It says a lot that not only can I do this challenge with my own books, I can do it with my own shoes as well.

The Wizard of Oz by Frank L. Baum

I think these shoes, aptly named Ruby Slipper must be one of my favourite pairs ever. They're just so colourful, and who doesn't love a book reference in a shoe?

Handle with Care by Jodi Picoult

I chose this for the title, not the story or cover. These shoes have a kind of half-platform at the front, so you have to kind of rock forwards and backwards as you walk, else you fall face forwards. I saw someone do just that in the shop, actually.
I'm pretty sure they should come with an 'Experienced Users Only' sticker.

I, Robot by Isaac Asimov

Movie cover, sorry. But the shoes more than make up for it! They're sparkly robot low heels with, wait for it... a plastic robot that sits on the ankle!

It was so, so hard not to get carried away! If you look in the background of the photos, you can see SOME of the boxes of shoes I had to choose from :)

The Last Werewolf by Glen Duncan

Cause no wardrobe is complete without werewolf heels.

Best. Challenge. EVER.

  1. Oh my good grief, Hanna! Those shoes are AMAZING! I think sometime you should take me shopping and show me How To Buy Shoes so that I have just one beautiful pair like that. I'd never have anywhere to wear them but I could take them out of box and stroke them sometimes. I particularly like the ruby slippers with the stripy insides! :)

    1. Yay! Book and Shoe Shopping Expedition!

Buying shoes is easy - you pick a pair that a) are too high for a sane person to walk in, b) don't match anything you own and c) you already have a pair exactly the same at home, but perhaps with an added bow. Then, you harrass a shop assistant into fetching a pair and then make them watch as you prance up and down the shop :) S'fun.

  14. OH MY GOODNESS you have some fantastic shoes! In general I can't stand shoe shopping (I like to be barefoot whenever I can), but if I had the time and money to hunt down shoes like these I don't think I could resist. Very cool!
