Today #insixwords:
I've decided it's the book's fault.
So you'll be glad to hear that today's post will be much less whiny than Tuesday's and Wednesday's. I still spent the morning volunteering in a hugely chaotic office, the afternoon chasing up violent offenders and the evening poking at admin on my laptop but I'm in much better spirits.
I actually got a little reading done too. Obviously I've been very busy (which I may or may not have mentioned... *cough*) but I've realised that I'm just not clicking with The Haunted Book. I mean, it's fine but I don't really have a strong urge to continuously read it.
I know this because this evening I suddenly realised that I hadn't read the allocated reading for the Lady Audley's Secret read-a-long that Alice is hosting this month. I grabbed my book, settled down and the pages just flew by. Perhaps the read-a-thon will go better if I swap books...
I've only written one review this week when I'd planned for four, but... did you know I've been busy? Tonight I've managed to write a post about the Ninja Book Swap (that you should definitely sign-up to) and my read-a-long post, so I don't think that's too shabby!
Usually I spend my weekends catching up with work-related admin, but hopefully I'll be able to make a start tomorrow so I can get some reading and reviewing done. My boyfriend has just bought a new PS4 so he'll be distracted and I'll be free to read!
Definitely swap books; you don't want to be reluctantly reading during a readathon. That's just doubly frustrating. Hope your boyfriend gets completely lost in his gaming at the weekend so you have plenty of peace and quiet for the reading.
ReplyDeleteAwww, distracting the boyfriend with video games... a tactic I am very familiar with. :P
ReplyDeleteROLL ON THE WEEKEND! Hope the reading material gets more gripping and that you get some quality book time in over the next couple of days, help recharge your batteries a bit. :)
