Shoe Save #1 : River Island Navy Peep Toes

Booking in Heels Shoe Challenge
On Thursday I introduced my Shoe Challenge to you all. Now, just a few days later, I'm back with my very first pair of shoes checked off the list.

Before we get to that though, here's a quick reminder:

From tomorrow, from the 14th June 2013, I have one year to wear all of my shoes. Any pair I haven't worn by 13th June 2014, will be binned.

Remembering now?

Awesome.

I'm kicking off (no pun intended) with my very favourite pair of heels, and the ones I'd least like to have to throw away in a year's time. They're comfortable and actually a whole lot more practical than they look, to the extent that I actually have them in three colours.

This navy blue pair sees the light of day way more often than the others though. My go-to outfits are either a green dress (you'll be seeing many of those for the next year, I promise you) or anything that makes me vaguely resemble a sailor. Hence, the navy heels.

Not the most flattering photo in the world but my need to 'save' these shoes outweighs my vanity!

This is in the PSU office, inside the County Court. I often accompany people into hearings and prepare their bundles for them, but this morning I'd spent two hours trying to convince somebody that their divorce wasn't actually valid under UK law. It did not go well, which probably goes a long way to explaining that strange grimace-thing on my face.

A lot of my Shoe Saves photos will probably end up being taken in the PSU office - my heels have been a regular source of amusement for the security staff, ever since I rolled up in my Zombie shoes months ago. But never fear, I'm sure you'll see those soon...

Oh, before we go... You should head over to The Book Dragon, who has been awesome/masochistic enough to join in with me!

  2. This is a wonderful idea! I do love a bit of shoe porn! I think you should teach a masterclass on how to walk and wear high heels for long periods of time I'd love to know your secret!

    1. Shoe porn! Ahh, that makes me happy :)

I considered it. I so very nearly did a post on a) How to Purchase High Heels and b) How to Walk in High Heels!

  3. That's a great picture! If I tried to work in those heels my equivalent photo would be me, face down on the floor, feet akimbo, with my ankle skewed at a painfully unnatural angle. As far as I'm concerned, my darling, you will always be the be-heeled goddess who has mastered a life skill that may forever remain a mystery to me... Good save! :)

P.S. I WOULD, however, accept a little direction concerning a good pair of relatively flat OR Cuban-heeled cowboy-style boots. I MUST HAVE SOME. Maybe in Leeds!

    1. Cowboy boots are outside my area of expertise, I'm afraid, but I'm more than willing to help you look... we can learn together! :) I think New Look is quite good for that kind of thing, and there are two in Leeds.

Haha, my heels are a running joke in Court now.

    1. Nope, beige/pink and then cream/black. Although I forgive you - the majority of my shoes ARE red and green IS my favourite colour. Clearly you know me and my habits very well...
