It's here, it's time, it's the beginning!
Well, it is tomorrow, anyway.
For those of you are wondering, here's the schedule:
October 12th - 18th: Chapter 1 - 21
October 18th - 25th: Chapter 22 - 41
October 25th - November 1st: Chapter 42 - 58
November 1st - 8th: Chapter 59 - 84
November 8th - 15th: Chapter 85 - 94
November 15th - 23rd: Chapter 95 - 135
The chapters are all quite short, so while it looks like a lot, it's actually just over 100 pages a week.
To clarify, we start reading on October 12th. Then on October 18th, you post about the chapters you have read that week (using my prompts if necessary), then return here and link up.
We'll be using #letsreadmobydick to Tweet about it too.
If you're late to the party, that's fine. It's never too late to join up :)
Here are this week's prompts, even though we haven't begun yet. Don't forget to link up!
1) What are you expecting from the novel? Do you have any preconceptions?
2) What do you already know about the plot or character?
3) This book, unlike War & Peace, isn't a translation? Do you think that will make a difference?
4) Have you read Moby Dick before? What prompted you to read it now?
5) Show us a photo of your book!
Good luck everyone!
Enjoy reading Moby Dick.
